Nepal: Annapurna to Everest

Revised Itinerary The first portion of this adventure takes you into the valleys fronting the Annapurna massif, a segment of the Himalayas whose peaks soar over 23,000 feet. Starting in Pokhara, your journey leads through picturesque villages filled with vibrant markets and scenes of rural life. At the Seti River you embark on a rafting voyage, then visit a local school in the village of Dharampani, finally heading out on an elephant safari in Chitwan National Park.

Moving on to the Mount Everest region, you will experience a place of travel legend at the center of this Himalayan kingdom, which has beckoned adventurers for centuries. You’ll head into the mountains themselves from the trailhead at Lukla. Passing beyond the point where vegetation ceases to grow, you’ve arrived for a series of walks into an austere dominion of rock and sky. Wander solitary Nepalese villages and centuries-old cliff-side monasteries, and shop the markets at the center of Sherpa culture. You’ll return by air to Kathmandu where one-of-a-kind shops and cultural sites offer a civilized counterpoint to your days spent in the untamed heart of the greatest mountain range on our planet.

GUEST COMMENT

The itinerary was well-planned and carried out by the guides. The hospitality of the staff at the lodges was exceptional and the food/meals were most enjoyable. Namche Lodge was excellent and I enjoyed the tea service and happy hours, it made the evenings relaxing.
